Word Of The Day (My Vocab Sucks): Kakistocracy

Kakistocracy (noun)

Government by the worst persons; a form of government in which the worst persons are in power.

Word Origin and History: “Government by the worst element of a society,” coined on analogy of its opposite, aristocracy, from Greek kakistos “worst,” superlative of kakos “bad”.

“Kakistos is Greek, it means the worst of the worst. It’s also the name of a vampire so old his hands and feet are cloven.” ―Rupert Giles. You know you’re a Buffy fan when you read the origin of a word and of course it takes you to a Buffy moment. Anyway, not to stray too much, the definition is hilarious because most politicians are hiding something. Nobody is perfect.
