The “I” In Team by Kori | Written 8/7/17

The man in all black lurks outdoors,
Eyeing the young lady plotting his move.
She pretends not to notice.

He enters with a closed mind,
Ready for battle if she attacks,
But she doesn’t want to cause his demise.

Harsh words thrown around,
Reckless, foolish, selfish girl.
She has no interest in saving lives.

Ties bind her to earth,
To the city with no name,
She would have flown away years ago.

He paces back and forth,
She invades his mind, scanning his thoughts,
And shrugs him off.

She won’t join a team,
She won’t defend the greater good,
She pretends not to notice.
