80 Days Into 2017 – [80/365]

Family #65 by Kori | Written 3/21/2017

They smile in your face.

But where is the love?

Words laced in venom cause distrust,

and being shady shakes spirits.

All the time they want to take your place.

You boast about being  like me,

yet can’t name a trait,

or sentences formulated that match mine.

The back stabbers,

that come in your life,

hiding behind smiling masks,

and heavy debt.

Italicized lines are taken from the song The Backstabber by The O’Jays.
