Distant Cousin by Kori | Written 2/27/2017

I don’t recall people or things,

but I do remember events and places.

Don’t wish ill on our strong bond,

I did not separate you from the rest of us.

I don’t sing kumbaya when it suits everybody,

but that doesn’t mean I don’t care.

This is where I would say,

“I wish we could go back to simpler times”

or

“I don’t yearn for the past but this is an exception.”

We have no past, no memories, no moments.

I take credit for my mistakes,

but this one is all on you.
