[25/365]

Ten by Kori | Written 1/25/2016

Ten seconds ago she widened her smile
she hadn’t been happy in quite a while.

Ten minutes ago she boarded a plane,
to escape a man who caused her pain.

Ten hours ago she silently cried,
not used to the feeling of having pride.

Ten days ago she booked her flight,
and her future became increasingly bright.

Ten weeks ago she was almost to her goal,
she needed a few hundred dollars to escape Cole.

Ten months ago she mentally said bye,
when Cole gave her another black eye.

Ten years ago she married the love of her life,
and couldn’t wait to be his doting wife.
